Navigating life transitions, relationships, identity, and feelings of loneliness, guilt, or shame can feel overwhelming, especially when layered with complex family dynamics, adoption experiences, or cultural stressors. I specialize in working with foster and adoptive families, including transracial adoptions, as well as individuals, teens, young adults, couples, and members of the BIPOC community across Minnesota who are seeking support for trauma, identity development, self worth, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Whether you are exploring adoption, healing from foster care experiences, or simply feeling lost and unsure where to turn, you do not have to navigate this alone.
At Next Adventure Counseling & Consulting, I provide culturally affirming therapy for clients in the Twin Cities metro and greater Minnesota, with in person sessions available at our Edina, Brooklyn Park, and Monticello locations, as well as secure telehealth across Minnesota. I bring a culturally affirming, trauma informed, and intersectional approach to therapy, integrating systems, narrative, and experiential modalities. As a systems thinker, I use a transgenerational lens to understand how family patterns, cultural influences, and lived experiences shape who you are today. This holistic approach allows us to explore the deeper layers beneath anxiety, depression, relational conflict, and identity struggles so meaningful and lasting change can occur.
As a transracial adoptee from South Korea with over a decade of experience supporting adoptees, foster youth, and families since 2011, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to our work together. I deeply understand the complexities of adoption, belonging, race, culture, and identity, and I am passionate about creating a space where you feel seen, validated, and understood. I am committed to providing affirming therapy for BIPOC individuals and families who are seeking a therapist in Minnesota who truly understands the intersection of culture, identity, and mental health.
Reaching out for therapy takes courage. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you gently uncover your strengths and inner wisdom layer by layer so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self compassion. Therapy is a powerful space for healing, growth, and reclaiming your story. If you are looking for an adoption competent, culturally responsive therapist in Minnesota, I would be honored to support you. Let’s connect and begin your next adventure.
