We have talented therapists that will work with you to develop goals for your next adventure. We use a variety of approaches when working with clients, including empathy, utilizing humor, and helping our clients set realistic goals for themselves. Our goal is to meet you where you are at in your journey.

In identifying your individual needs, our team will work with you to uncover strengths, potential, blindspots, aspirations, and areas of growth. Our team is focused on serving the whole individual including social aspects of life, emotional awareness, cognitive function, basic needs, employment/academics, and family systems.   • Founded by Dr. Marguerite Ohrtman, Director of Clinical Counseling and School Counseling and Program Coordinator of Counselor Education Program at the University of MN. With over 11 years of experience leading counselor training and providing clinical supervision, our team is highly experienced and provides a unique niche in the industry. Our team has experience serving individuals, groups, couples, children/adolescents, and families.

  • Our team is unique in that the majority of our providers has experience working in K-12 education. All of our clinical therapists have worked as school counselors and have years of experience working with young people, adults, and families in navigating difficult seasons of life. Our team is experienced in counseling academic concerns, intellectual and developmental disabilities, school avoidance, behavior concerns, partnering with schools to bridge services, reviewing appropriate accommodations for 504 Plans and Individual Education Plans (IEP).

  • Our team offers specialty areas in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Crisis Response, and working with Children and Adolescent clients.

  • Mollie Jonart is a trained sign language interpreter and utilizes these skills to counsel those that are deaf and hard of hearing.

  • Our team has National Certified Counselors that go above and beyond in delivering the best care for our clients! National Counseling Certification is national recognition from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

  • Sandra Mortensen received 2020 School Counselor of the Year Award.

    Dr. Marguerite Ohrtman was named 2016 College of Human Development New Career Excellence Award.

  • Individual Psychotherapy

    We offer in person and virtual sessions to help individuals with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment, transitions. We work with our clients on how to deal with depression, cope with anxiety, and focus on their strengths.

  • Couples & Families

    For couples or families, our therapists work collaboratively with you. By exploring relationship dynamics and communication styles, we will work together to improve their significant relationships.

  • Consultation and Supervision

    Our therapist can provide executive coaching and motivational interviewing if you are looking for support and direction for career or other life transitions. In addition, our therapists provide supervision for other therapists that are working towards licensure in Minnesota.
