About Ellen: Ellen loves working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular interest in college students and emerging and professional adults. She takes a humanistic, person-centered approach, meeting clients where they are in their process. She strongly believes that our pasts provide invaluable insight into how we exist and function in our current lives, and she values above all else the relationship she builds with each client — striving to create a safe, nonjudgmental space filled with curiosity, understanding, and compassion.
Therapeutic Approach: Ellen draws from a range of educational and professional experiences including practice within the correctional system, hospitals, and mental health clinics. She has experience working with family and parental relationship stressors, anxiety, school and work transitions, self-esteem, domestic abuse, self-harm, grief, substance use, body image concerns, and other traumas. Outside of the therapy room she enjoys historical fiction, crocheting, cooking, and connecting with family and friends — experiences that bring authenticity and warmth to her work.
